| He is the King of Crustaceans, the Prince of Prawns, a successful
restaurateur, and a promoter of the Alabama Gulf Coast. Al Sawyer,
owner of King Neptune's Seafood Restaurant in
Gulf Shores knows his
seafood. Prior to his restaurant
ventures, Al worked with Bon Secour Fisheries, peddling
the Gulf's bounty from Key West to Boston. In 1993,
tiring of life on the road, he and his wife Diane followed a
dream and opened a small take-out seafood restaurant.
This eventually evolved into King Neptune's at its present
location. King Neptune's is a favorite of
visitors and locals alike with oysters, delicious royal red
shrimp and crab claws being the draw. Al serves only
Alabama Wild Shrimp and all oysters come from Bon
Secour Fisheries. Al actively works with the Alabama Gulf
Coast CVB hosting travel writers. He has appeared on the
Travel Channel's Lonely Planet and the Food Channel's Bobby Flay's Food Nation. |
